Renee was born and educated in Trenton, Nova Scotia.  She has been painting
and sketching since early childhood. Renee studied art all through her school years
but is mainly a self-taught artist.

Since coming to NL she has studied with artist Clifford George and has taken
various watercolour and etching courses.

Art has always played and important part in Renee's life. Since coming to NL she
has been deeply touched and inspired by       "Spring Banquet", acrylic on paper, (22" x 32") $2250 (tax included)
the many moods, colours and wonderful
places this island has to offer.

"I am a naturalist with a great passion for nature and this It is what makes life interesting for me. I enjoy the beauty of the natural world around me and try to absorb as much detail as possible, from the largest trees and mountains to the smallest leaves, petals and insects. Each piece I paint inspires me in a different way. I try to give importance to everything in my paintings and sometimes look for a story within the subjects from which I paint. I love the challenge of bringing it to life in front of me.
I hope my paintings tell their story to viewers"

In 2009 Renee's work and life was featured on CBC television's Land & Sea program. Her paintings have been sold across Canada and are in many private collections.
