My enduring pleasure in the painting of wild flowers and mushrooms began early. One long past late summer morning, as I walked through the dewy, sweet clover-honeyed grass where ruby bright wild strawberries bejewelled the sheltering ferns.

Inspired by the flora and fauna of our landscape Olga has painted for over thirty years, devising her own technique that aimed to combine the mercurial qualities of both the subject and the medium itself.

Olga Davis was born in 1919 in the Drover family home on neighboring Wood street.

Olga works in the unusual medium of 'oil on porcelain'. Working through trial and error and utilizing specialty oils, such as oil of cloves and oil of lavender, she then blends this with refined minerals to mix all her own pigments. the paint is applied with very soft, fine haired brushes onto imported Japanese and German porcelain tile. When the paintings have dried, the porcelain tiles are then fired at 2000 degrees in her kiln. this results in a very durable, unique and original exquisite works of fine art.

Olga has been exhibiting her works on porcelain for many years. Her most recent solo exhibition "Abundant Earth" was an overwhelming success.
